Antonio das mortes is the first analysis that I have made of my previous films. It is a purified resumé of Baravento, The Black god and the blond devil and Earth in a Trance… With this film, I feel I've completed a certain phase of my work in order to make a new departure on a different basis … My previous films were polemical; they had qualities and faults… Antonio das Mortes is a reflection on those qualities and faults.
