Ben Haaz is a producer at Home Box Office. Haaz contributed to the cable company's recent films Pu-239 and Bernard & Doris, and two that are awaiting release Recount and Taking Chance. Haaz works in HBO Films' development department where he actively looks for feature length screenplays for HBO to finance, produce, and distribute.

Haaz has written on politics and entertainment for the San Francisco Chronicle, LA Daily News, and The Week Magazine among others. He received his MFA in Producing from UCLA's school of Film, Television, and Digital Media.

Prior to moving to Los Angeles, Haaz worked for Barbara Kopple a two-time Academy Award winning documentary filmmaker. While working for Kopple, Haaz contributed to Bearing Witness (A&E) and Shut Up and Sing.
