What are the remains of a revolution in the people who experienced it?
From February to April 2011, 23 thousand Tunisians reached the tiny island of Lampedusa, Italy
The Italian Government called this event an invasion, a barbaric horde, a biblical exodus, a humanitarian tsunami. But nobody spoke about the stories of these young people.
From the refugee camps of Manduria, Mineo and Palazzo San Gervasio (Southern Italy), five of these young people tell us about the constriction of their whole life under the regime of Ben Ali and about the unexpexcted and groundbreaking revolution that made the President flee. Then the possibility to leave, for someone a long-lasting dream, for others just a sudden decision.
Those are the best years: the ones of a generation that lived without freedom for too long that now has decided to take it all.

The documentary was presented 15th of November at African Cinema Festival of Verona, In competition in the section Wayfarers and Migrants.

14th of November - Padua - Immaginafrica, 4.15 p.m.. At the presence of the authors and one of protagonist. At 5.30 p.m. round table coordinated by Gabriele Del Grande.
24th of November - Rome - Apollo 11. After the screening a debat with the authors and Stefano Liberti, (Journalist).
1st December - Padua - PortoAstra.
3rd December - Nottingham, Ishraqah - Festival exploring Middle East and Arab cultures
The documentary will be presented in the library of Italian Docs Screenings - Florence 16th-19th of November 2011.

Che cosa resta di una rivoluzione nelle vite delle persone che l'hanno attraversata?
Tra febbraio e aprile 2011 ventitremila tunisini arrivano a Lampedusa.
Il governo italiano urla all'invasione, si parla di un'orda barbarica, di un esodo biblico, di uno tsunami umanitario. Non si parla invece della storia di queste persone.
Dai campi di prima accoglienza di Manduria, Mineo e Palazzo San Gervasio cinque di loro si raccontano. Un'intera vita soffocata sotto il regime di Ben Ali, la rivoluzione inaspettata e dirompente che l'ha messo in fuga. Poi la possibilità di partire, per alcuni a lungo sognata e per altri solo improvvisata.
Gli anni migliori sono i loro: quelli di una generazione cui per troppo tempo è stata negata la libertà, e che ora ha deciso di provare a prendersela fino in fondo.
