Soliman graduated from the Higher Cinema Institute in Cairo in 1997 and has written, directed and produced three short films to date. He is currently working on the screenplay of his first feature film and has published essays in several Arab publications as well as three collections of short stories.
His documentary feature Living Among Us was awarded Best Documentary at the National Festival for Cinema, the Ismailia International Film Festival, and the Corto Imola International Short Film Festival; and also won the Golden Prize at the Al-Jazeera Documentary Film Festival. He appeared at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2006 with his film Today 30 November.
