The film will take up the life and destiny of the Emir Abdelkader born in 1807, an emblematic figure of the modern Algeria, as a passionate love story between him, Algeria and France. At the age of 20, he became the leader of his people and faced the strong French army. He was then captured and taken to jail in France before going into exile in Syria where he dedicated himself to poetry and built up a great friendship with the French capital which covered him with honours. Independent Algeria saw him as the founder of the nation.
