Based on an idea by Abdelkader Marzouki.

The Kotokos live in one of the many principalities of Chad: Gaoui. They are known for being gardeners rather than herders and grow mainly fruits and vegetables. They master two kinds of architectures, including one that isn't vernacular. They are great builders and build their huts with clay and straw. Each hut has a second floor where the bedrooms are as well as a central pilar supporting the roof. The building process only takes a few days. Men are in charge of the construction but women are taking care of all the finishing touches.

Produced by Tele Chad, the AIF, the CIRTEF, the SRC, the RTSR and the UNESCO.
Screenplay by Roland Lambe.
Part of the collection Habitat Traditionnel.
