Rio Carnaval is often called'the greatest party on Earth'. The centerpiece of the world famous four-day party is the Samba Parade - a competition of vast scale. This year thirteen neighborhood samba schools, often with thousands of costumed dancers, will down parade aboard themed floats down a parade course nearly nearly half-a mile long.

Watching them are a panel of expert judges, over 60,000 spectators, and a TV audience of nearly half a billion.
