This was the beginning of years in hospital, of repeated operations, of suffering and struggle. Years away from her family during which the little Muslim girl, in the hands of good sisters and Catholic nurses, discovered music and singing at mass...
From then on, facing the racism of a French society struggling to recover from the Algerian War, but also coming up against the stubborn prejudices of her own community, Malika will follow her dream and move mountains to become the one everyone will one day call "the Diva of the suburbs".
