Tholang travaille comme un entrepreneur de pompes funèbres à Soweto depuis très longtemps. S'il sait s'y faire avec la mort, il est démuni face à la vie. Les choses s'en vont à vau-l'eau quand sa nièce arrive chez lui comme apprenti et réussit à perdre le cadavre d'un politicien important. Au cours de cette aventure, Tholang doit faire face au monde qu'il a évité toutes ces années.
