The first edition of ADDIS FOTO FEST will bring together African and
African Diaspora photographers, in order to foster a dialogue
through various events and workshops. With the participation of
representatives from the global photography market, the activities of
the festival will be an opportunity to expose the participants to the
various ways in which the image of Africa is projected, interpreted,
negotiated, and marketed.

OPENING : Tuesday, Dec 7
- First day of portfolio review at Goethe-Institut (5 reviewers & 12
participants from various parts of Africa). 9am-4pm.
- Opening ceremony & main collective show at Alliance
"Ethiopia / Interior Visions". 6:30pm.
- Video projection by resident artist Yo-Yo Gonthier (France /
Réunion) & guests with live jazz by Nubian Arc at Alliance. 8pm.

DAY 2 : Wednesday, Dec 8
- Second day of Portfolio review. 9am-4pm.
- Opening of solo show "We were going to see God" on Haiti earthquake aftermath by Dudley M. Brooks (USA) at National Theatre gallery. 5pm.
- Opening of solo show by Maurizio Frullani (Italy) at National Theatre Gallery. 5pm. - Opening of "Between Heaven & Earth" show by Nick Danziger
(UK) at National museum 7pm.

DAY 3 : Thursday, Dec 9
- Third & last day of Portfolio review. 9am-4pm.
- Opening of DFA student show "Watching you / watching me" at
Goethe-Institut. 5pm.
- Opening of show by resident artist Akinbode Akinbiyi (Nigeria) & guests at GebreKristos Desta museum. 5pm.

DAY 4 : Friday, Dec 10
- Presentation of "Invisible borders" project by Emeka Okereke (Nigeria) at British Council. 10am-11am.
- Opening of collective outdoor show "My home is here" (Nigeria) at British Council 11am.
- First panel discussion on ethics in photography at Addis Ababa
University. 2pm-5pm.
- Screening of "Mo & me" documentary by Salim Amin (Kenya) at IES, Addis Ababa University. 6pm.


DAY 5 : Saturday, Dec 11
- Opening of "Mémoire" solo show by Sammy Baloji (DRC) at the School of Fine Arts & Design (AAU). 10 am.
- Second panel discussion on standards in photography at Addis
Ababa University. 2pm-5pm.
- Opening of "Chrome" show by resident artist Dawit Petros
(Canada) & guests at Laphto complex. 6pm.
- Opening of solo show on hiphop fashion in the 80's by Jamel
Shabazz (USA) + Slideshow "On the roof" (France) + slideshow "The Brooklyn photo salon + Arrested development by Grace Ndiritu at Laphto
Complex. 9pm.
- Eighties party at Matrix Club/Laphto Complex. 9pm.

CLOSING: Sunday, Dec 12
- Opening of Pierrot Men (Madagascar) solo show at Talisman gallery & closing cocktail. 4pm.
