FEMI International Cinema Festival of Guadeloupe- 16 th Edition

DATE AND LOCATION
The 16th edition of the FEMI International Cinema Festival of Guadeloupe will be held from January 29th to February 6th 2010 in the city of Le Lamentin.

AIM
The aim of this event is to introduce the youth and people at large to quality international productions and also to the productions from the Caribbean and the southern countries.
This event is planned to contribute to a better knowledge of the different cultures.
The festival helps to increase exchanges between professionals.
The FEMI FESTIVAL 2010 organized by ICM (Images and Cultures of the world) which is a Law 1901 non-profit association receives the support of the Regional Council, the overseas department's ministry, the DRAC of Guadeloupe, The youth and sports regional administration, the women rights commission.

The International Film Festival of Guadeloupe will propose 3 international selections for competition:
* a selection of full length films competing for the grand Prize, the Public Prize and French speaking film Special Prize
* A selection of full length documentary films competing for the best documentary film prize from Guadeloupe or French Guyana.
* A selection of short films (fiction or animation) competing for the best Caribbean short film prize, the best French short film and the best foreign short film.
