Genre : Band

"Veanu" is a name derived from a rock that forms from the shore and extends a good meter out to sea somewhere along the coast of the village of Luli on the island of Paama.

This point is like a transition point from the rough seas to the calm seas or vice a versa. It certainly describes what this Band is all about: "Transition".

Transition in life happens all the time and in all works of life. This is the philosophy of the Veanu local Stringband in Vanuatu.  The band comprises a mixture of men from Paama, Emao, North Efate and Tongoa.

The famous and key players in the Local String Band area when you talk about names such as that of Joe Gibson (Former "Mangawiarua" and "Saratamata") or Edwin Carlos (Former "Souwia" then "Saratokowia") and a good mix with the taste of "Esaufate" Lead vocalist Dick Taripu.

Then you have the very talented paama guys such as Kency Talang, Aesach Jonah, Donald Vano, John mark and Peter Talang who are not new faces and sounds to string band music.

A young and enthusiastic Charlie bel from Tongoa finally completes the ingredients of this Veanu Composure.
