French Film Director, Scriptwriter and Editor.

Born in London (UK) in 1955, Claire Simon learned to make films by working as an editor while also directing independent short films such as La Police (1988) and Scènes de ménage (1991). She has also made several documentaries including Les Patients (1989), Récréations (1992), Coûte que coûte (1995) and Mimi, screened at Berlin in 2003. In 1997 she directed her first fiction feature, Sinon oui, which, like her subsequent films Ça brûle (2006) and Les Bureaux de Dieu (2008), was selected for the Directors' Fortnight.

Nata a Londra nel 1955, Claire Simon ha imparato a fare cinema passando dal montaggio e parallelamente girando dei cortometraggi indipendenti - segnaliamo La Police (1988) e Scènes de ménage (1991). Ha realizzato diversi documentari, tra cui Les Patients (1989), Récréations (1992), Coûte que coûte (1995), e Mimi, presentato alla Berlinale nel 2003. Nel 1997 ha firmato il suo primo lungometraggio di finzione, Sinon, oui, selezionato, come i successivi Ça brûle (2006) e Les Bureaux de Dieu (2008), alla Quinzaine des Réalisateurs a Cannes.
